How To Have A Good Day 101

Change your vocabulary. Words hold tremendous power. They create symbols and meaning. We use language as a guidebook to determine how we should behave and look at the world, and even more so, how the world should look at us. In short, how we use our word greatly impacts our attitude and day.

This past fall I caught myself in a severe rut. Between my hectic work schedule and several family emergencies, I started to feel overwhelmed and stressed. A friend texted me one weekend and asked me what I had planned. I proceeded to list of all my errands. "I have to go to the grocery store. I have to clean my apartment. I have to back-up my computer...etc."

The moment I pressed send, it hit me. I don't have to go grocery shopping. I get to go to the store. That instantly gave me a new perspective and attitude. How lucky am I to know when and where my next meal is coming from!

I challenge you to change your vocabulary. Remove negativity, and create room for reflection and gratitude.
